When you’re looking for a great concealed carry handgun, whether for defending yourself in the home or other personal use, then there’s a very good chance that you’ll be deciding whether to buy Sig P365 Tacpac or the standard Sig P365. The question is – is the extra cost for the Tacpac worth it?

That’s what we’ll be answering in this blog, as we look at what each one offers, allowing you to ultimately decide whether it’s a worthwhile extra cost for your own needs.

What You Get With the Standard P365

One thing that’s common to both choices is a stippled grip 9mm pistol. That’s an important point to make, as that’s essentially what you’re going to be getting. The +P ammo rated firearm is included with both, however, with the standard P365, you do get the normal green sight.

You do get a decent-sized carry case with the typical sponge protection in addition to 2 x magazines holding 10 rounds. Sure, you don’t get a complete package like when you buy Sig P365 Tacpac, but you still get a high quality handgun that won’t let you down when you need it.

So, What Does the Tacpac Option Actually Give You?

When you spend a little more, you get 3x magazines that hold 12 rounds, rather than less with a smaller capacity. You also get the XRAY Day/Night sight as part of the package, but there’s more too. What you’ll also get is a useful ambi holster that makes carrying it more comfortable.

Having those extra cartridges can be a real lifesaver in the most literal sense should you find yourself having to defend yourself and when you buy Sig P365 Tacpac, the improved nightsight and easy-to-access holster can prove really helpful too.

So, The Big Question – Is the Extra Expense Justified?

With the more expensive option costing anywhere between $50 and $100 more, depending on where you buy yours from, you do get a fair bit of additional gear. If you want an honest opinion, then the holster on its own would cost you more than that if you were to buy it separately.

Add in the extra round capacity and the larger case and it’s hard to advise against it. Whether you require the extra stuff you get when you buy Sig P365 Tacpac is an entirely personal thing, but if you intend to use it properly, it’s difficult to see why you wouldn’t need it.

The Verdict – Spend the Extra Money – It’s Totally Worth It!

Sig Sauer is one of the most prominent manufacturers of firearms in the world, so whether you choose the Tacpac or the standard P365, you’re buying quality. For what amounts to 100 bucks, the additional value is clear – unless you intend simply storing yours in a safe.
